Edit to say, its the 1501

I bought a dell inspiron 1501 a few weeks ago from Dell, booted it up but nothing happened  this was brand new so was quite confused, they even told me to open the thing up, yeh its not quite that easy!

Anyway I got them to send me a new one (for some reason they didn't take my other one away) and it worked fine, for a day.

Now when I boot it back up the screen flickers, constantly, so its unreadable, its obviously a loose connection somewhere but this is just stupid, 2 brand new laptops having the same problem??

If there is a thread about this and I've missed it please just link me to it, or if you have had the same problems could you tell me what you did, would be most helpful.

    Thanks.

As its brand new, call Dell and let them send a tech out to you...

I just had a look at some of the others threads on here, and its seems to happen quite a bit, going to take apart the first one they sent to me, and see if there is any problems there, and then check the connections.

I really don't enjoy phoning Dell, they are most unhelpful.

    I think I spoke too soon :(

I shut the thing and opened it again and the flicker came back!

Must be a kink in where the lead disconnects when the screen is shut

Guess I will just have to keep the thing open forever
