Ive been looking at the Studio 1555 and im just wondering about the performance it offers with the GPU. How does it fair with games like Left 4 Dead, but any information on how the gaming perfomance is would be great from actual useage from people with the laptop. The GPU is the 512MB ATI Mobility RADEON HD 4570

This is the only thing im wanting to know before i pick one up.

I have the slightly older Studio 1535 with the ATi 3450 graphics card, and Left 4 Dead plays pretty smoothly on this machine. The 1555 has the more powerful 4570 graphics card, in 256MB and 512MB flavors, so Left 4 Dead and other games should run even better.

The only games I've had playability issues with are Call of Duty 4 and World at War, both of which can be played, but on bare minimum settings at 800x600 or 640x480. Also, Crysis and Far Cry 2 perform pretty badly, as you would expect. :p

Here are some results I got:

Crysis is playable at 800x600 high, 1024x768 medium, 1280x720 low.

Games like Half Life 2 Episode 2 and Team Fortress 2 run on max at 900p with stuff like AA either off or turned down. Team Fortress 2 appears to run better due to the multicore support.

I wish I had Left 4 dead to test it out.

Im quite impressed, i would be mainly be playing older titles and games that came out around a year go. Gonna use a PC for anything that is to demanding.
Seems like it will be great for what i need from it.

Good to hear Team Fortress 2 peforms well, one of the titles im wanting to play on the laptop.
