Figured I would just add to the hearsay about the dedicated graphics for the E1505

Ordered the 6000 today and had a change of heart about a hour later and called dell to cancel. I said that I had decided to wait till the E1505 has its ATI card avaible. Then i asked if I purchased the E1505 would I be able to upgrade to the ATI card once it came out later this month and the reply was "don't bother ordering the E1505 at this time, you will want to just wait till next week" hmmmm.... sound like that would be a hint. Of course english was his second language but why else would he have said that?

I wouldn't trust his word. First, I have a problem believing that the sales department would even know the date that the dedicated graphics would be released. Dell is a huge company and they are very protective of information like that being leaked, so I can't imagine dell telling their sales support staff about the date.

I guess you can wait until to next week and see what happens.

Another problem that I have with him saying that, is that he made it seem like you could upgrade the graphics card -- which is False. The current system has an integrated card which is can't be upgraded.

You are probably right.. but he did have me on hold for about 5 mins before he came back with that answer. And if the release is very soon its probably not as highly protected.

It will definately be more, i'm guessing it will be about 100 to 200 more, just a rough guess based off what they charge for an upgrade to the 7800 on the inspiron 9400 (it's about another 450 australian (which is about 250 or so US) for the screen card upgrade), i'm thinking it should be about half as expensive as the 9400 upgrade(which is a similar pricing structure as they used for the inspiron 6000 and the 9300 screen card upgrades)
