I wouldn't bother either with Norton or Mcafee...My M1210 (ordered in India) came with Norton which I uninstalled in favor of the AVG free edition...
Not only is it a better AntiVirus but also consumes less system resources...

On a side note, you are getting a great deal on the configuration :)

With the 15 month limitation, it's better to uninstall it and put something else more permanent on there like abhi182 mentioned. The deal you are getting is pretty good. You're saving a few hundred. A configuration like that in the US with the EPP discount would be around $1600+.

hi benna i thought u've got e1405 arent you?
norton and mcafee i think both are crap.
ok , why dont u put some money in faster HDD which is the slowest component, and get Core 2 Duo with 2MB instead , u wont find big difference with such slow HDD. Thats my opinion.

yes it is a e1405, but on dell business it is named as Inspiron 630m....it doest have a core 2 or core processor, it is a Pentium M

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7200 (2.00GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667 MHz FSB)

i got the 4mb one- here the price is very low, so i go for more perfomance. is that right?

You cant, screens are based on whatever they grab first when they slap her together. The only time I've heard of anyone getting a specific screen on request was after multiple returns and replacements. I do highly reccomend you shoot for 2GB of ram as soon as you can, it will makes HUGE difference, especially running vista.

Buy it from the market. You can get something good for around $75 shipped for a 1gb PC5300. Dell overcharges for it, which makes it not worth it to get it from them.
