Ok I've narrowed it down between the 2, I got them both configured right around 830 US, I'm gunna drive down to my cousins and drive it back up here and transfer the warranty to me here in Canada.

Now, they both have similar specs, but I need to know what you guys think would be ideal for me the 6000 or the 700m. I will be walking like 20 minutes to school everyday but this is kind of like a desktop replacement for me as it's going to be my only computer there.

Do you think the bulk is worth it, also I would be getting the 64 MB x300 w/ the 6000 for the same price but only an integrate with e 700, but I'm not really going to be gaming at all, won't have any time to.

So what would you say, for word processing, surfing, mp3s, dvds. 6000 or 700m

To me portability wins out here...as a student I think you'll appreciate the flexibility of having a light machine to carry about. It will keep up with whatever you want it to do as well, falling short only in gaming.

I'm going to be a freshman in college this fall, and I bought the 9300. It's a dream machine with the Nvidia 6800go. I really don't mind the weight much. It's up to you.

I agree with the guys. I goto college too, and drag my 9300 around with me everywhere. I had to try several bags before I found the perfect bag that made it seem lightweight. If you are going to be walking 20 minutes, then the 700m would be better. At the same time, I would rather have the 6000 for dvds.

Looks like I'll be going with the 700m, for DVD's if I really think about it the only time I would be watching them is on the train home every month so I guess the 700m is good enough for that.

    Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, you are making a good choice. If you aren't going to be watching DVD's that much, it would be better to get the lighter one out of the two.

    Good Luck

If you are going with the 700m get the 8 cell battery. Get approx. 5 hours of battery life as opposed to 2 to 2.5.
