Long story short, getting it through work and paying back via paycheck (better than using the evil mastercard). Also it was under 2,000 Canadian incl taxes.

    Here's the spec's:
    - Dell Inspiron 9400
    - Dual Core 2 T7200 (2.0GHZ)
    - 2GB RAM
    - Geforce 7900gs 256mb video card
    - 160GB 5400 SATA HD
    - Dell Wireless N network card
    - 17" WXGA+ Matte screen (no glossy)

I do play alot of games and figure this should last me a while. Also, I did not want to go above my budget at all (which was 2,000).

The main reason I went matte was the following reasons:
    - Would be over my budget
    - dust & since i'm beside windows, the reflection would be too much.
    - I really only have one eye and I find I get eye strain w/ my current laptop
    that has a glossy finish.

I cannot wait for my new laptop to come and play games and a much higher detail level and more.

BTW, how long does it take for dell to ship it and me getting it.

    Thanks.

    Nice!!

I ordered my e1705 and e1505 on 2/20. I got a phone call with an automated message on 2/28 that said everything was back orderd and the new ship date would be 3/6. I was very surprised to get both systems last Friday. Very weird but I can't complain!

nice deal for under $2000. usually for those specs in a 17" it would cost more than $2000

    Thanks.

Now all I need is a bigger desk at home since the one I got right now (not really a desk) barely fits my 15" right now.

I ordered mine at the beginning of January and they gave me an expected delivery date of 3 weeks later. I dont know why but it came after 1 week. I think they boost that time in case a problem arises, but otherwise you shouldnt have to wait too long.
