just got it. everything you read or heard about noise , heat,.ets.... is fiction. I can't hear a thing on this laptop. . I played DVDs and it was great. the sound it unbelievable. my 1050X1680 screen is way better than the 800X1200. Me with a very few people had the pleasure to actually see and use both LCDs what a diffrence.
this is really one of the best out there if not the best.
one thing anoying me is that the screen that contain the mulimedia bottons is scrached. and look really old and chaep. this is the second laptop I get and both had the same problem. did any one have that?

no scratches here
hey, so you are the first to have upgraded right? I mean you had to send it back and order again but you had the 1280x800 version of THIS laptop correct?
I am thinking about upgrading but I don't know about going that far up in resolution though
Have you played any games yet? Is there a difference in graphics? -
I got such a good deal on mine I don't want to send it back, even though I want the higher resolution. This is fine for now. I'm rationalizing it by saying I'll buy myself a nice 24" WUXGA screen.
-
I don't if I'm the first, but yes I had the 800x1200 first. so I saw them both.
No games yet. I will try tomorrow . regardless of the games I like this one. and you can always change the setting to lower resolution if some game require to.. -
lol, i'm in the same boat Zahn........I'll have to pay a little more if I want that screen
-
I'm giving Dell a phone call tomorrow to see about this cheap screen that they keep sending me.. I might send it back. I have to see what they say.
-
lol, they might throw in something free

I wish they had an option for what type of cover coating consumers want on their laptops. They should have chose something that was finger print proof; because every time i close the notebook i see my finger prints all over it.
