One last question, when I upgrade the ram, is it as simple as opening it up and sticking it in? Will the computer detect it or do I have to do something else?

Also, one last last question, how do I overclock? Just a little couldn't hurt right? :D

Yes, it is that easy. Here are Dell instructions (your system will be similar but not identical).

One thing to note is that Dell typically ships systems with multiple small memory modules rather than one big one. This means that you may need to remove both modules and replace them with 2 new ones, rather than just buying a second 4GB one.

You can't overclock the CPU. Overclocking the GPU is easy and will boost performance. You should move your questions over to the XPS board, it's a lot more active than this one.

Also, Terry is right. Your system will come with 2x2GB, so you will need to by 2x4GB, not just 1x. Still cheaper than buying the Dell upgrade, and you can just sell your old RAM on Ebay.
