Took me all summer to find one and I finally got myself to click the order button :p

    :decision:

Been on desktops for 10 years, and now decide to go the laptop route, hope its worth it!!!

    Inspiron 9300
    Intel® Pentium® M Processor 730 (1.60 GHz/2MB Cache/533MHz FSB)
    17 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen XGA+ Display
256MB DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz 1 Dimm (to be upgraded)
    256MB NVIDA® GeForce™ Go 6800
    60GB 7200rpm Hard Drive
    Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition
Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem
    8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
    Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200 Internal Wireless (802.11 b/g, 54Mbps)

    $1,259.68

I will be around here more often once I get it!

I get instant buyers remorse any time I click a buy button, no matter how much it costs, so any consolement will be helpful. hehehehe.

    Sounds awesome, what a deal.

Good thinking, upgrading that RAM yourself - Dell charges almost double what it is to do it yourself!! I'd go to zipzoomfly and get 2 x 1GB modules if I were you..

    Go6800 256MB rocks the house!!

60GB 7.2kRPM HDD should be really fast as well.

Congrats and have fun with it :)

Congratulations on your laptop purchase, A laptop is a great compliment to your desktop, Though I would hesitate to call them a good desktop replacement, which they truly are not until laptops become non proprietary.

Nice decision to get the Inspiron 9300 with the Nvidia graphics card. You will not regret it. The i9300/XPS offers the performance of desktop systems yet are still portable enough to be notebooks.

The 9300 is one of Dell's better notebooks. The 7200RPM drive is a nice upgrade.

I spent about $1,800 on mine (just ordered yesterday and will recieve next week friday <i hope> ). Same specs except i got the 1.86 and the 80 gig HD (5400 rpm i think). Also i got the carrying case and 3 year warranty and accidental warranty. I feel like I overpaid but well see when it gets here

once you go with a laptop, it is hard to go back to a desktop. I have 4 desktop/servers at home, I only log into them via ssh or RDP anymore. I really love the 9300 it is fast, good screen size, has a solid feel to it and it is fast. I think my desktops miss me.
