I know I haven't waited as long as a lot of people. Took mine about 30 days to arrive from my order, but I finally got my ruby red 1420 Inspiron.
Waiting was a *****, each delay got me angrier, but I did feel a bit fortunate that I wasn't counting to the 60th day, like some people, however it still didn't matter, I wanted my laptop ASAP. I thought to myself... I'm letting this damn experience turn me a little petty.
Customer service was annoying at times, almost like they didn't know what was going on.
The estimated order dates this time around, were completely and utterly crap estimates, and it was becoming very comical to hear everyone's complaints, that were all identical.
Strangely I took solice in the fact that it was happening to everyone though, so I wasn't getting personally screwed.
But am I happy?
Waiting for a month, did not make me happy, hearing how Dell was seemingly screwing people over did not make me happy. Getting pushed back again.. etc. But getting the damn machine, and doing all the things I need to do with it (albeit modifying from programs and getting rid of some of the bloatware that they give you - which isn't as bad as they say mind you) I'm pretty damn pleased!
Will I buy from Dell again? Despite grumbling to myself all month that I never would again... I've had a change of opinion since then. I think after this incident, which has become decently exposed, they will clean things up in the future. I really do love this machine, it's perfect for me right now, so for me, the wait was worth it. It's true then, the customer really is forgiving... those bastards!
To sum up.
The service = crapola (this time around)
The product =![]()
Finally got my 1420. Am I happy with my experience?
