Finally got my midnight blue 1520 TODAY

I am on my 1520 now it is great the lid when close still has a slight looseness but nothing to bother me. I AM JUST HAPPY MY LAPPY IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Congrats! Mine shipped via DHL today! It's in Nashville, and I'm in Ohio, so hopefully it arrives soon!

I ordered mine on Aug 1 and my estimated shipping date was delayed 'til Aug 27 from an estimated delivery date of Aug 20 due to a back-order on the processor. And mine is Jet Black.

 

Well mine is in nashville too but they have the wrong address down! I need to find someway to change it quickly!

 

Congrats!!! Now we're all envious! I'm pretty sure they are making the BOX mine is going to be shipped in from scratch. I've been in the "boxing" stage for going on 4 days now. I figure they are still grinding the wood pulp trying to make the corrugated box they want to ship it in. LOL!

 

Buckeye....can you tell me what your order status says on dell with regards to shipping method, etc.? On mine, the "shipping method" still says Next Business Day and the carrier now says "DHL Express Ground"

When I check the tracking # on DHL it says that the shipping information has been recieved and under "service" it says "Ground".

Mine is coming from Nashville as well...and I'm in Atlanta. The "ground" on DHL says that it takes anywhere from 1-6 days. But the Dell Chat guys ensured me that my laptop would ship next business day.

I really want to get it tomorrow!!!!!!

 

My blue 1520 arrives by noon on wednesday. Next Day Business Shipping actually means 3 days, apparently, but what the heck. It's coming after 40 days.

 

Yeah, mine says next business day, and shipped 8/13, and "DHL Express Ground" as well.

But Next Business day actually means two or more days, apparently, for some locations. DHL has confirmed "by noon on 8/16" though.

 

Were you told by Dell that you were being upgraded to Next Day? If I don't get my shipment next day, I'm going to re-contact the chat guy that told me it would "definitely get there next business day" and see what kind of explanation he has for that not being true.

Wish me luck on a speedy delivery....after all, Nashville is only like 3-4 hours from where I live anyway...if it goes out tomorrow morning, it "can" make it here by evening for sure.

Yes, Dell did upgrade me to next business day.

They "shipped" on 8/13, but in reality, that was like midnight last night. DHL didnt get it until today (8/14) and it wasnt in their system until 4:30 PM

Ordinarily, Next business day would then get here tomorrow, but because my town is slightly rural (10 whole miles from santa cruz, and 35 miles from San Jose) they said that the address falls into a 'zone' where -all- "next business day" deliveries can take two days, because they only send their trucks out here every other day. If Dell had given it to DHL on an odd numbered day, it would have taken 1 day. Since it is an even numbered day (8/14) it will take two.

That's not really Dell's fault though - they got it to DHL today, and DHL is the company that is deciding to take two days for "Next Business Day" which Dell is paying for.

 

It looks like I will get mine next business day. I checked the shipping status on DHL this morning and the est. delivery is today ...and my husband also got a phone call from the delivery person informing him the package had to be signed for and to be sure to be home between 11-12:30 this morning.

Hope you get yours soon, too! I should have mine within the next 4 hours!! Counting down the minutes as I type!!!!!!
