    Hi!

I got the screws today (read below).

Did the job myself. Very simple really (almost, I have a little issue with the camera).

The entire grainy / sparkling issue IS TRUE!

My replacement LG screen is perfect. No grains (looks like dust..)

It was very visible in light blue or white backgrounds, or @ the bar of the IE (7.0).

I love my new screen. It is beautiful.

I asked for a screen replacement for my WUXGA 17" 1720 notebook.

For stupid reasons, I only sent in the LCD and not the entire notebook.

Huge problem. 3 weeks later and basically my LCD got lost.

I must have called Dell 10,000 times and wasted hours and hours, speaking to everyone from technical support, to customer care, and finally to the Dell resolution team.

Finally, they agreed to send me a new LCD kit which only took 1 day to ship. I got it today. However, no screws were shipped along with the parts, so now I have to wait for the screws.

The good news is that they sent me an LG screen. I really hope that this thing looks as good as the samsung WSXGA I had with my previous 1720 notebook.

That LG screen should be flawless as those are the best LCD's Dell uses...

    Congrats :)

    Hey orion23

How did you get dell to replace it and just how did you explain the problem to them. Thanks

The LCD kit comes with the auxiliary cable, replacement silver screw covers (look beside microphone above LCD) and the LCD panel.

Awesome stuff bro, yea LG are the world leading flat panel manufacture for good reason, their stuff is breath taking usually.

I love my LG panel so much I didn't separate with it for 2 replacement screen kits (all of which we're ugly ass Samsungs). 3rd kit is on the way woo. (I got dead pixels bad on my LG - thats the reason for new screen).

Yes, I tollay agree that LG has better quality pannel than Samnung. Thank for your answer. One more question for you. When you call Dell, How can you be so sure that you are going to get LG? I used to talk to Dell Tech, and he told me that I can't pick brand of the screen. It depends on the inventory.

They say that there is no way to know which brand will be shipped as a replacement.

    I just got lucky!

    Hi,

Can you tell me the P/N of your LG screen. This way I can be more specific when I ask for my replacement.

    Thank you.
