Well guys i have been reading a lot of threads about people getting the IR remote added to there order for free and others saying they ordered it for 10 -15 dollars, well today i called customer service and he found it with fw331 part number and offered me the option of addin it now or waiting until my laptop gets here, to email him and he will have it shiped then because there is about a 2 week delay on that remote and it will delay me getting my laptop for another 2 weeks so i rather just have him ship it out when i have the laptop in my hands :) but bottom line is i finally got it :)

I just talked live with the guy and its just on the moment talking, you can't use 1 set strat to get it every rep is different, if you got strat, like be nice to the rep, tell them things be a good and nice customer, tell them how good of a job they are doing, you know tell them stuff prep them up and you can be like i really wanted the remote and didn't see it when ordering, from there on you on your own

Has anybody else received their remote through the use of Dell Chat? I logged on there after I placed my order this evening and after some brief dialogue, she had ordered the remote for me, free of charge w/ separate shipping. Wasn't very hard at all!

This morning I checked My Orders on Dell Home and found this placed there - Order Description: IREXT Wireless Infrared Remote Extender, Item Number: A1152892. Is this the correct part?

Do you have to have bluetooth for this remote to work?

No, it works with your IR receiver. There is a separate bluetooth remote for sale, but Dell generally does not send that for free.

It's the Dell Travel ExpressCard Remote, IR that you can add to your order for $15. In my opinion, I think it actually comes with the case and build who ever is supplying this to DELL because it fits in the PCI Card Slot. Got mine free too after my notebook came came in.

No luck on chat when I tried twice. I forgot to add to my order, and figured it wasn't fair to have to spend $16.00 shipping for a $15.00 remote. So, I used the "Missing/Damage" form with my call back phone number to call. Went to call them the next day, and while waiting on hold, got an incoming from DELL. Yeah, kinna spooky. Told her that I vaguely remember adding the option during ordering. It was as simple as finding where it was on the options, which is normally available during build, Tab 2, under TV Tuner Cards and Remotes. If I had the part number, it would have been even faster. So here it is:

Part Number: 412-0961 Dell Travel ExpressCard RemoteControl, IR.
