Ok, I would really like to find either a phone number or a web address I could check the actual order status at...an automated system, not person.
As of now, website upper right hand order status option always gives me "in production."
Website personal homepage always gives me "System undergoing maintenance"
The automated phone gives me "in production"
The actual rep has been giving me "pre-production"
Is there a way to get the status like "build" or whatnot and where?

No joy there...also, I can get the order status from chat.
The only reason I'm checking so often is that I'm getting deployed in Aug, and if it does go over my ship data...I'm going to cancel my order and go with another laptop
Anyhow, if there isn't one, I'll just keep swamping the phone system. -
i think calling dell is probably the most accurate from what other people say.

I use that 800 number then just enter my order number when it picks up... don't know of a better way. Maybe Dell would expedite for active service. Best 'o luck!
