I will be getting a Studio 17 soon, and I have a question about the optional fingerprint reader. Is it possible to protect the BIOS with it so only I can boot the laptop?

You can use the finger print as your Windows login password. To prevent it from even turning on would require a modified BIOS but I am not sure you could fit it onto the ROM anyhow.
