Anyone willing to remove their Studio 1555's palm rest to see if there's a slot that exists on the motherboard for a fingerprint reader? Thanks.

Just be patient until someone does, or do it on yours when you get it, i've seen you ask so many times.

Judging by the Service Manual pictures it looks like there is no connector for a fingerprint reader.

Just from the fact that the 1555 doesn't have an option for a fingerprint reader, I'd say the chances of the motherboard supporting such a device is slim to none. If you want a fingerprint reader, get a Latitude or an XPS :)

Or a USB fingerprint reader. :p

I've had one of those on my desktop for years, and it's always been less finicky then my mother's integrated fingerprint reader on her Latitude E6400.

Most likely not, Dell is saving a few bucks and some headaches with hardware by going to the facial recognition software, people think it's cooler and it's cheaper for Dell to install cheap software instead of expensive hardware.

To be fair, the facial recognition is pretty damn cool. :p I've been using it on my Studio 1535 for a while, and I wouldn't trade it for a fingerprint reader.

Bro, I totally agree. It has a coolness factor, and honestly it's faster than the fingerprint reader.

Yeah I know it might not be the most necessary thing, and I didn't upgrade to the facial recognition.

How can you get the facial recognition thing on the studio 1535? I wouldn't mind giving that a whirl :D

Facial recognition looks very promising. ;)

Well this relieves my worries of a fingerprint reader. Haha!
