I was told that although the driver is posted on the manufacturer's website for free, the actual software has to be purchased..
but isn't the software included in DELL cd for 32bit Vista?
and.. shouldn't that work fine with 64bit Vista?

There are no drivers for Vista x64 for XPS M1530.

there have been threads for this; all the drivers required for xps m1530 have x64 support (u can dl it via directly from manufacturers / for the ones @ xps m1330)
I'm just curious about the fingerprint reader software.. -
the d630 has similar hardware including a fingerprinter reader with vista 64 drivers. My reader is working 100%

I have no problems with my fingerprint reader M1530 and Vista 64. Is it not working at all? Reinstall the software and install sp1.
