So when I first set up the Fingerprint reader on my m1530 I opted to store my fingerprints on my hdd, no I want to store them on the reader itself, is there anyway to change this, I went through the settings and came up blank. I know that I will eventually reformat my hdd and would like to bypass the whole re-registering.

I believe one of the original warnings when you first set it up was you had to choose where you wanted to store the fingerprints as that would be your only time to choose.......

So having said that, If you reformat your laptop and reinstall the FP software, it should ask you again where you want to store the data. Choose the Reader this time. Unfortunately this means you'll have to re-enroll.
