Alright, I think I need to update my firmware...but I'm a little nervous because of the warning on the page I was looking at that said it can mess things up.
Could anyone help me out with how to install firmware safely?
I just need it for my DVD burner and the search function in this forum isn't working for me recently for some reason.
Thanks and please help!

Dwonload it off Dell's website. Usually it is a .exe file. You double click it and it asks you if you want to flash. Say yes and re-boot.
I was robbed by a sweet little old lady on a motorized cart and I didn't even see it coming.

I did mine last night, and its pretty easy to do. The only problem with mine is that I need to update my decoder which is also another simple task.

Where do you update your decoder/what is a decoder?

The decoder is software (like Cyber Link, Nero, etc) that reads your dvds .You should see it under start-->programs. All you have to do is go to the software's website and get the updates.
You might not have to do this at all. I'm missing my CyberLink software/CD and that's what causing all of these problems.
