Ok im getting an i9300 for christmas but last night i was allowed to get it out of the box and set it up. It had these specs:
    Pentium m 1.86ghz
    X300 128mb graphics card (lame i no)
    80Gig 5400rpm hard drive
    Wxga screen
When i first saw it i thought nooooooooooo, it looks like a youg boy racers car with the whit bumpers and all the plastic.
I came to open it and again noooooooooo, some **** latch (are u sure this cost nearly £1000?).
Anyway i swithed it on wit 59% battery (courtesy of dell).
I set it all up and at the end it sed warning screen may go black for a minuite or so. So i waited and it came on (but the screen was nearly as dark as the black screen.
When tha desktop came on i thought whats all this **** and why does it look like dell has thrown my recycle bin to a corner of the sceen. But i realised it was so i saw it and deleted all the ****. I kept the macafee free trial but it had an error on it so kudos macafee.
Anyway the performance was good and after messing with the screen i looked ok but the screen is so stff i could hardly get to the 10 degree sweet spot. Movies and games look amazing as i installed dawn of war and watched a film.
I suppose when i get it for christmas and mess with it then ill get used to it but for now ill have to wait

    Woo,

I believe once you get on it for a while you will get used to it. In my case I don't really care about the bumpers. After using it you will realize that the good things far out-weigh the bad.

    Enjoy the lappy.

I too just got my 9300 this morning, actually. I ordered it this past Friday night at around 11:00PM and it came Monday with my mail. Amazing. Granted, I ordered it from eBay and got an amazing deal. The seller was willing to work with my budget and in the end I came out with a 9300 with the following specs:

    2.0GHZ Pentium M 760
    1GB Of RAM
    100GB 5400rpm HD
    Geforce 6800
    Trulife WUXGA screen

All for a grand total of 1400.00. You just can't beat that. Not only was it brand new, but it came with the warranty transferred into my name as well as the afformentioned blazingly fast shipping.

I must say that the 9300 far exceeds my expectations. I was nervous after reading the comments about the WUXGA screen and how everything was so small: not the case. I love the screen. I have absolutely no "sparkles" and very minimal light leakage. I'm currently searching for the best driver for the 6800, because so far my 3dmark score is right at 3500 (3479 give or take for each time I ran it, 4 total). Keep i mind this is before I have formatted, which I plan to do after Christmas.

Anyway, I love my new 9300, and I don't regret this purchase a single bit. I typed this reply on the 9300, and I can't stop grinning.

Actually, when you clean install windows, the recycle bin goes to a corner... And if you really want to be pissed, look at the hard drive free space.

In reading other threads and upon toying with my i9300 for 4 days now, I've decided the only way this machine could run better is if I cleaned the hard drive and did a fresh install. This will be done Chirstmas day when I have the whole day to do it :)

Adding 1gb stick of memory made this thing fly. Plans to order another from newegg soon. $65 after $10 rebate (mushkin) can't be beat.

I do hate the keyboard and am thinking of asking tech sup for another one.

    Ninefoot3,

I am in the same boat as you I will re-install, but I just don't know when I will have the time. Christmas at my family and her family's house.

I am sure I will get it done sometime. ;)
