I've ordered a Dell 9200. I am wondering if there is anything in particular that I should/need to do on the day and in the first few days of owning this? i.e. apart from charging batteries fully and reading the manuals etc.....

nothing specific really, register the notebook with Dell (they'll ask you to do that during the setup wizard) and register the XP OS with Microsoft (they'll also make that easy). Maybe try some of these optimizing tips:

Buy a screen protector/wipe and transfer old files and programs from your older computer/laptop.

    Thanks for the helpful advice....
I've heard of people wiping the hard drive and then reinstalling a freesh copy of Xp....does this void the warranty and do you then have to re-register with Microsoft?
