Flamingo Pink 1420

Anyone else besides me waiting on a Flamingo Pink 1420? I'm feeling kinda alone!!

 

I ordered my girlfriend a 1521... details are in my signature. There aren't a lot of people on here that have ordered pink though...

 

I ordered a pink 1520 on August 5.
Yesterday it was in Build.
Today it's in Pre-production.
ESD Sept 12-14

 

Your right, not a lot of pink lovers on this forum.....my question...then why are pinks taking soooo long.....

 

because not everyone who ordered a pink 1420 is a member of the NBR.

 

I ordered my daughter a flamingo pink, 1420, laptop on 7/8/07. ESD is 8/28/07. She'll already be gone for college when and if it comes in.

Ordered my daughter flamingo pink 1420 on 7/10. ESD is 8/30/07. Yes, she has already started school and needs her laptop

 

When I ordered the pink 1420 on 7/8/07, our first ESD was 7/18/07 and then it was delayed until 8/2/07 and now the last ESD is 8/28/07. We have decided if it is delayed again, I will go out and purchase her the pink Sony Vaio CR laptop. They have it at Office Max but it is a little more expensive than the 1420. But at this point, she needs a laptop for college and I am really tired of dealing with Dell. Every time I talk to Dell, they have a different story for me about why the delays are happening.

I got all four of my orders finally 2 black and 2 blue thru the epp deals.

 

That's strange, I ordered a 1520 on August 7th and my ESD is September 6th.

 

16 more days until my ESD!!!...keeping fingers crossed!

I to am waiting for a Flamingo Pink 1420. Placed order on July 17th, first estimated delivery was Aug. 3rd. Without contacting me, the status changed to Ship date Aug. 28th. Now I see that everyone else was given the same ship date. I have spoken to Dell twice. I'm promised free overnight delivery! Boy, on the 28th DHL and UPS better have their "wings" on for all the freebie overnight shipping promises. That's provided of course that a product was actually completed !!

 

I am starting to get real worried about the Aug 28 ship dates (Mine is Aug 30 actually)... I have not seen anyone reporting that they have a Pink 1420 shipped yet...

I would feel better if I saw a few pink 1420's going out....
I'm hoping that they may ship like the midnight blues did..they shipped TON"S of them within a weeks time......finger's crossed!

 

I ordered my PINK 1420 on 7/17 and it's still "in production" How did you luck out Swanson getting your's!!!!!!

 

Swanson had a 1521, according to the signature.

I have not seen ANY Pink 1420's ship to anyone here...

 

That makes me nervous!!! I hope they get the out on time!! HA HA HA

 

I'm waiting for a Pink 1721. I haven't seen any of these sent out. My hubby ordered it for me for my birthday. There doesn't seem to be alot of people waiting for pink, but it's got one of the longest delays. I don't understand it at all. Mine has been in build since he ordered on 7/30. I'm not very confident in the 8/28 shipping date they've been handing out to everyone. I think it's just a date they've just pulled out of their butts. When 8/28 comes along they'll come up with another date I'm sure.

 

I have given up on Dell - too many people have had their est. ship dates changed - I cancelled my order and and got the Sony Vaio CR in pink...lovin' it - no regrets!

 

I'm still waiting it out... 9 more days! We'll see what happens!

 

I called Dell yesterday and even though my computer says "in production" they assured me that the pink 1420 would be shipped out on August 28th. I have next day shipping upgrade. The lady told me there was no delay on any of the parts on the computer and they just have not had time to update the order status site. We'll see if the laptop ships. I am very skeptical. If I get another delay, my daughter wants me to cancel and get her a pink Sony Vaio CR laptop from Office Max.

 

I hope it ship's for you!!! When does your daugher start school?

 

She left Friday so if the laptop comes in on the 28th, I will have to drive it up to her. I just don't think it will be shipped on time. I have not seen any Flamingo Pinks shipped. Dell took all the joy out of this laptop for us. But we have decided we are definitely cancelling if they delay it again. She just called from school and her roommate has an Apple, and she really likes it so now we just wait to see if Dell ships the pink laptop or I will be going to the Apple store to purchase her the Mac.

Don't feel too alone. I'm still waiting on my pink 1420. I ordered it on the 16th of July. Supposedly it will ship on the 28th of August, but I have my doubts. It still says In Production on the site.

 

I've decided that if I can save up the difference in price before my 1520 ships, I'm going to buy a Macbook Pro and cancel the Dell order. That's giving them at least two more months though, maybe more because I'm not great at saving up money.

 

I've decided if mine gets delayed, I'm going with black.

 

I ordered my lovely pink laptop on 7/29 hoping to have it for school. I know I havent waited as long as a lot of others but it is still frustrating. When I contacted Dell, the CSR told me that if I wanted I could "cancel the order and walk to Wal-Mart to get a Dell"...lol. Great service there. Supposedly I was upgraded to free one day shipping, but thats worthless if it never ships. My order still says in production, and all I hear is music on their phone status line. I'm sure I will be joining the 09/xx club soon...

Well I just called Dell this morning and they told me my 1420 laptop was in boxing stage and should be shipped 8/28/07. Needless to say I was speechless but very happy. They said I should received it on 8/29/07. I sure hope everyone else gets good news about their flamingo pink laptops. I'll keep everyone posted.

Yes, I have been delayed until 9/5/07 - not really a surprise. I have called twice and cut off both times. So I sent an e-mail asking for more compensation due to a two month delay and I just called again and got through. First he told me it was delayed due to the pink top and I informed him just yesterday I was told it was being shipped on 8/28/07. He looked again and said oh yes - you should receive your computer within the next two to three days. I'll wait till Saturday and then I'm going shopping to get a different laptop for my daughter. I've had enough! I'll let you know on Saturday if I get it or not.

Ahhh!! I have no idea what to do, should I just get a different color?? No other 1420 colors have delays right now...
I'm sorry for you, you have been waiting a month longer than I have!

 

Thanks and I am really frustrated and so is my daughter. She told me tonight she needs a computer this weekend. I'm going to call Dell again tomorrow and see if it shipped. When I asked about changing colors, they told me it would be about three weeks so that isn't an option for us either. But then again who knows if they are telling the truth or not.

Well, it looks like Flamingo is the only color showing "May delay your Inspiron 1420 ship date" at this point. The 1520 is showing five colors in delay mode. I wonder if we'll ever receive our laptops......

 

Saddest part for me is I wait for the Dell commercials during Big Brother 8 on CBS for just a glimpse of the laptop, but since flamingo pink is one of, if not the first one, I always miss it. I always look up in time to see the green.

I remember a happier time when I blissfully and ignorantly believed I'd have my laptop way before the ETD.

It has been 2 days since I called Dell. I find it helps to forget that I have a laptop on order.

In all seriousness, if you have a 1420 ordered, why not pick up a Sony CR from a store? I wasn't impressed with the Sony 15.4" models, which is why I ultimately chose Dell, but the CR looks pretty cool. And, to quote the young man at Best Buy, "It comes in colors."

 

If I didn't get such a good deal at Dell, I would go with a sony. I'll have my first delay next Tuesday!

 

I'm an EPP Deal of over 500 off ... waiting on a pink 1720... Ordered July 19... hopefully some1 is getting their pinks...

Guess what, I just called to cancel my Flamingo Pink 1420 and they told me my order shipped out late this afternoon (8/29/07). Hopefully, I get it tomorrow afternoon. I'll keep you posted.
