    Hello All:

I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 notebook. Win XP w/SP2. All recent updates + as far as I know, no virus or malware + latest Java and flash software + latest Nvidia GoForce 5200 driver

Problem: Video playback in flash players like www.dailymotion.com is choppy when notebook is running on battery. The same video playback is perfect when I connect the external power supply.

I have no idea why this is happening. I made sure I have the correct video drivers, latest Java and flash player. I made sure that my graphics/video card has "best performance" set when working on battery.

Please help. This never used to happen earlier and is something recent (since past couple of months).

    Thanks,
    CIL

I'm sure your laptop has a setting to slow down the CPU to save power when on battery.

Agreed. The video stuttering is probably caused by your CPU underclocking via SpeedStep.
