    I've got an Inspiron E1505.

I've searched around for flickering screens, and can't seem to find anything that matches my symptoms (most suggestions seem to be to check OS settings, and I don't think that's the problem).

First, it just started flickering. Settings haven't changed recently.

Second, I can get rid of the flickering by PHYSICALLY re-adjusting the angle of the screen, or if that doesn't work, maybe tapping the sides of the screen with both hands.

That impies to me that I've got a hardware problem.

Searching around the web, I've seen indications that perhaps I need to replace the screen, but it's not easy trying to navigate Dell's web site to see how to order a replacement.

Or maybe there's a way to take this thing apart and check connections. But I'd need instructions on how to do that.

    I'd appreciate any suggestions.

    Hi,

Have you tried connecting the laptop to an external monitor?
If all is ok with the external screen then you know your graphics card is ok and in all likelyhood your screen has problems.

This doesnt mean that you should be obligated to change the whole screen. Sometimes it is just the inverter. Do the test with the external monitor and then ask DELL or any other technician

The number of hz could have been changed. It should be at 60hz
