the bottom part where the Dell insignia is, that black strip is not snapped in, and it does not seem like it can be. Does anybody have this part loose or is it just me.

    Thanks

I replaced mine myself. The bottom part WILL snap in! Just run your fingers on the outside edges and it will snap in lightly. Be careful, very delicate but trust me, it will go.

It is loose. If it matters a lot to you, I'm sure you can seal it up with aquarium glue (silicone) or silly putty.

If you run your thumb along that strip, can you feel any bulges?

i really wanna ask for a brand new replacement laptop but i dont want to because after 3 screen replacement screens, i got a samsung and its PERFECT, except everytime i put it back from sleep or anything it gets all blocky and sometimes even changes the resolution.. I dont know if it has to do with the screen but the first time the guy replaced it with a samsung screen, it wouldn't even turn on and the second time with a samsung screen it works, but i dont know if this is a bad sign. still i dont wanna risk getting a new laptop with a chi mei screen! ahhh

oh also my notebook looks kinda beat up from having the screen replaced multiple times..

It's definitely not suppose to be loose like that. Before I had my screen replaced, it was NOT loose.

The bezel that surrounds the screen snaps in at random points, but it is like the top of a Tupperware container, sort of. When you snap in one part, sometimes another area will pop out. You just need to be careful and patient and you can press in all of the places by running your fingers along it. You don't need silicone gels or any of that stuff.

So it is possible to get all of the pieces to snap in?

Yep, just use the whole part of your thumbs and "knead" the plastic firmly but gently outside to in. You will get them all.
