Do you take better care of your laptop knowing that if an accident occurs, the warranty wont cover it?

And how many of you have had accidents with standard warranties?

Standard warranties do not cover accidents such as physical damage. That would be covered by complete care, which is more like an insurance policy against accidental damage.

I believe the OP knows that, and hence this has nothing to do with what he/she asked...

I think i do take better care of my laptop knowing that it won't be covered in the event of an accident...but I don't mind not having completecare because I am quite tech savvy and therefore would be able to fix more if not all of the problem that could happen to my laptop myself...

I think that some physical damage may be covered by warranty depending on what it is. But basically if you drop it or soak it that will definitely not be covered. If keys pop off or a port connector breaks or you have small cracks in a bezel for example, that might be covered by warranty as long as its not considered abnormal use or abuse.

I once was giving demos at some conference and one of the attendees accidentally dumped his whole cup of coffee right into my laptop keyboard. Fortunately it was not one that I purchased, it was provided for work use. Amazingly though I just literally poured the coffee out and let it dry for a long time, there was absolutely zero effect.
