    Is there any benefit to formating(XP) my system after it arrives? Dell has so much crap on here, I have uninstalled most but just wonder if the system would run better if it was just a fresh install without all the bloatware?

    I think you would be better off formatting and having everything set up according to your taste... that's how I like it! :) My Sager came with no bloatware, only useful stuff.... But I first formatted it and before installing Vista set the hard disk partitions the way I wanted them.... then installed Vista :)

    Which would you rather do if you had a glass of water with pieces of **** in it;

    1.) "Pick" out the pieces on by one
    or
    2.) Get a new glass

    I'd decide that once I found out just how much bloatware was on the laptop.

    The Latitudes and Vostros don't have very much at all.

    My Vostro had zero bloatware on it. I thank Dell for that option.

    Otherwise, a format/install is the way to go.

    Btw, it's formatting, not formating. ;)
