    Hey guys,
I formatted my e1505 today. I got audio drivers off of the Dell website, as well as Intel wireless drivers (install didn't work), the most recent bluetooth drivers (didn't work), integrated broadcom ethernet drivers (worked), and then the Omega ATI drivers (x1400, worked).

    My main problem is this:
My internet doesn't work! There are also other devices that Windows won't recognize and can't install... I also don't have a driver's cd and can't wait to have one shipped to me. It is finals week this week.

Here are the devices which do not work:
Base System Device (PCI bus 3, device 1, function 3)
Base System Device (PCI bus 3, device 1, function 2)
Base System Device (PCI bus 3, device 1, function 4)
    BCM2045
Network Controller (PCI bus 11, device 0, function 0)
These all show up as unknown manufacturer, unknown driver, and "other devices" device type.

Also, when I hit fn and up or down or one of the front audio keys, no status bar pops up to tell me volume or light level. Is this because I deleted a small partition Dell put in? I remember haering something about this partition being devoted to media or something.

I've tried a few different Intel chipset drivers to see if I could get the network controller to work, but no dice...

Anyone know what drivers I need?
    Thanks!

Any ideas? I got my internet to work, but the "base system devices" are still unknown.

You can find all the drivers for your notebook under support.dell.com and they all work !!. Make sure you have the correct system and correct OS selected. Here is the link to Also, when I hit fn and up or down or one of the front audio keys, no status bar pops up to tell me volume or light level. Is this because I deleted a small partition Dell put in? For that you need to install DELL Quickset application.

Did you install the chipset software? This is always the first thing you do when you get into Windows.

You also need the NIC (ethernet), sound, and video drivers.

The volume/backlight keys are controlled by Quickset.
