Hi there, My problem isnt with the formatting of my new E1505, when i now turn on the notepad, i get a boot menu with 2 version's of xp showing up.

The first is my new version i re-installed, which works perfectly, second is to what i believe was the one in which it came pre-installed, but when i click on it, a message appears that there is no info on it, and it wont work.

I formatted properly going through 'Start with CD' and all that, removed all the partitions, its not the first time i've done it on a 'Desktop' pc. I've tried putting the XP CD back in and looking to see if it picks up the other 'version' that thinks it still exsists on my notepad, but its nothing there besides the version of XP that im using now.

It doesnt honestly bother me all that much, but would like to know 'if' i could still get rid of the apperancevof the other verison, and so i dont have to go through the OS boot menu at the start. I've tried going through computer managment on Windows to see if it picks anything up, but nothing at all.

    I have WinXP Home/1.83Ghz Core duo/ATi 256MB x1400/1Gb 667Mhz DDR2/60Gb SATA.

Everthing else is running hunky dorey :D

    hi,
what u have to do is go to start, run, type in msconfig, go to the boot.ini tab, click "check all boot paths" and then it should remove the redundant one....hope it works for u!

Its something with the bootfile, but it will not really effect anything, just change the timing to 0 seconds
