    Free Backpack and Dell OS CD!!!!!!! All inspiron orders in July

    Guys didnt know if this been posted allready but if anyone has bought any inspiron line Laptop This mony then you are Elgible for a Free Laptop Backpack and OS cd,

    You have to call Customer Service
    Request OS cd (for reasons of needing to Reformat Computer)
    Tell Dell you forgot to check the freeback when ordering new Laptop ( the backpack only shows up free when at checkout and not before then)


    And Dell will Send you everything and tell you sorry for the Wait and missing out on your well earned Deal.

    My customer Service rep did on step better said well "I cant ship you the backpack but we can send you a $100 Coupon and u can use it to buy backpack "LOL I said no Promblem with that , THanks :)


    Now they didnt question me but they might question other callers

    Or because their build quality is very poor and people like me have sent them back twice and then got a replacement system. Those next day air shipments have to be spendy.

    to those who ordered their lappie prior to july, you can still try calling/chatting and you may get something for free ;) i've heard of people calling in to dell to ask about the backpack and then getting a $35 coupon when they can't get it :p


    i ordered my laptop a week ago, and personally i chatted with dell like 3 times, the first time, the guy gave me nothing, the 2nd time, the guy gave me a $35 coupon but i wanted a backpack and chatted with a third representative showing her how the backpack deal doesnt work unless the backpack was added into the cart manually and she finally gave it to me :D my cousin was very lucky though, i told him about the free backpack and he managed to get a $75 coupon on his first chat. it pretty much depends on which CRs you get sometimes.

    try doing it through the dell chat, thats how I did it --- plus the odds of you getting the same sales rep are very low and its very likely that they will handle the situations differently

    I live in the US and just got it. It's August now so they said all they could do was give me a gift certificate for $35 - fine by me! Funny thing was, I connected once to get a free reinstall cd, then connected again for the backpack, and it was the same rep! She gave me both, though :)

    Edit: Well, the gift certificate never came in the email, but I chatted up the Dell folks again and they're just sending me the backpack instead. It retails for $50 and got great reviews on newegg, so it's all good :)

    I ordered my dell today, do you think there is any possibility that I could get the backpack? I was going to order it yesterday, but I went to the dell direct store(because they were offering no sales tax), but their internet wasn't set up. I then called another direct store, and they said they would call me back later that night. Well, they never did, so I had to order it today. Is there any chance do you think, and if so, what is the number to call?

    my cs rep said that the skin offer replaced the free backpack. i also was never able to find the free backpack promotion anywhere so i couldnt really argue. same with the recovery disk...

    I got the code to redeem my skin when I oredered online, the backpack deal was a catalog deal that you could pull up on the web. The CSR was like oh you are eligible (already redeemed my skin) so I get the bag. The E1705's got the larger Grey pack.

    my bag for the e1705 just came in :)

    its huge and just barely fits my 17" laptop but there seems to be a decent amount of cushion that will keep the lappie safe. its better than any other bag i got so i'm happy with it :eek: it comes with a ton of pockets to boot.

    but best of all its FREE so i have no complaints :p

    I got the CD's (the shipped fast, ordered them at noon and the next day they came at 2:00) but no backpack, but u did score $100 coupon!
    The rep said that i could get $25 then $50 and then $100.

    lol, im not even going to get a backpack with it, my old one fits it perfect.
    $100 free! w00t :)
