Being the blonde that I am when I purchased my 1530 last Saturday, I thought I had purchased an additional 9 cell. However when I finally checked my invoice this morning after the order being already shipped, I didn't see the extra battery. So I called up dell and told them that I wanted to purchase the 9 cell for the same price as I would with the purchase of the new system. So the ESL rep placed me on hold for what seemed to be 5 minutes and broke the news to me that I would have to purchase the new 6 cell battery for the new price $130. After explaining it yet again to the rep what it was I was looking to do, she stated she could send me a refurb 6 cell free of charge and with next day air. Within seconds of her breaking the news to me, my dell account online showed the order/purchase ID number.
So the call in total was like a half hour and got a free SANYO refurb battery. Yes, I know refurbs in general aren't that great but you can't argue everyone's favorite 4-letter word: free.

p.s. I thought FREE was a 4 letter word -
My bad... told you I was blonde. Also been on vicodin for the past week for wisdom teeth extraction so that probably doesn't help either.

Thats just too cool. You didnt get exactly what you wanted.. but like you said you cant augue free. How bad can refurbs be for that anyways? Wasnt it only released in November?
And dont forget to go parasailing to get the full effect of that vicodin! -

Received my extra 6 cell battery today. Doesn't appear the be a refurb. Got the same revs and types.. same lifespan thus far.. no scratches. Had a protective film over it (don't know if the extra ones do or not). But best of all it was FREE!!
Free Extra Battery.. sorta
