Has anyone had any luck getting dell to upgrade anything because of shipping delay? Or offer discounts?

Specifically, I am thinking about trying to convince them to upgrade my warranty. I ordered a studio 17. the basic warranty is 1 year limited warranty with 1 year return to depot service. This is included in the base price. When I placed my order i upgraded (for $198 CND) to the 2 year limited warranty, with 2 year return to depot service, lojack+ accidental damage service.

I have been given the usual order delayed bullcrap like most of you. But is it possible to use this to get them to upgrade it to the 2 year NBD onsite service, lojack, and accidental? ($80 value over my original 2 year return to depot)

I am going to give it a shot this week when I can manage to find the time to sit on hold for a few hours. I will let you know what comes of it.

Anyone try anything similar? share your results

keep us updated: I have been given the usual run around: order went in for an AW M15 Jan 19 and now I am told production delays/parts will mean an EDD of March 1 -- meanwhile see lots oif others receiving systems already who ordered after Jan 19 -- just feel someone in Dell is not telling the truth.
Found Canadian customer care unresponsive, even by email. Passive.
Tech support at AW is great but that's a different section than these guys.

The reason your order got canceled is due to a part being out of stock, Dell will cancel your order if it gets delayed for too long, you have to talk to the order modification department and tell them that you want to wait for your order's parts to arrive.

Since it has already been canceled there is nothing they can really do, you're going to have to reorder.

And you can't upgrade an order, what they do is cancel the previous and re order with the new specifications that you want, pushing you to the bottom of the queue.

Can you tell us your specifications that you ordered with? Because currently the real problem child is the RGBLED.
