When i play games on my Laptop (Rainbow Six: Vegas, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, Fifa 07, CS, NFS: Carbon, and Oblivion) it will randomly freeze, the sound will still be playing but nothing moves. Then after about a minute the sound stutters and still no movement. Then after another 1-2 minutes the game works but really really slow. I usually get 60+ FPS in Carbon, but after the freezing i get about 4-7 FPS

I thought my GPU was overheating but when the freezing occurs i look at my temp and its never above 165*F.
(Fans always on high when i play games)

    What could be causing this?

    MY E1705:
    2.0 GHZ CD
    2 GB 667 MHZ RAM
    100 GB 7200 RPM HDD
    1920 x 1200 LCD Screen

Anything could cause it. It's really too hard to tell. Could be a software or hardware conflict or both.

are you running on a factory install or a factory restore? A clean install can do wonders for stability
