Anybody have any idea why we in Canada get screwed with dell deals?

    Dell.com - $750 off over $1999
    Dell.ca - $100 off over $1999

Not to be ungrateful, but geez, even if u convert the US dollars to Canadian, its still cheaper for a stock system without coupons on Dell.com than Dell.ca

Yeah it kinda sucks for you guys in Canada. I mean the systems sold in the US and in Canada are both made in the same place (cant remember where), and with the same components right? I dont know why they make it more expensive there. If you have a friend in the US that could order it for you, you could save alot of money that way.

Yea it sucks. I still got myself a pretty good laptop. An Inspiron 6400 (e1505 for US) with high end upgrades for $1,500 inc taxes.

Not that this helps any, but it isn't just Canada that gets screwed on the deals. Actually USA is the only one that gets the 750 off coupons. Coupons issued for other countries are usually pretty small in amount and not widely publicized.

I think Dell has a plant or two based in the US, besides the ones in Asia. This could help bring down costs, as there are no import taxes/duties to be paid, and the notebooks are made domestically.

I think the current Dell.ca coupon is $100 off any system over $1099, not $1999. Back in May they used to have $600 and $650 off any system over $1999, but they seemed to have stopped these ones. The $100 off coupon isn't that bad though; a system configured the same as mine is pretty much the same price compared to when I bought mine (with the $650 off coupon).

Keep in mind that the majority of the people here in the U.S. probably don't know about or use the coupons.

If you're going to be spending in excess of $1,400 on a notebook, I'd suggest other than a Dell.
