Hi, fellas) One buddy of mine has this laptop in use with the stock HD screen and decided to switch to the 1080p one. Of course, the stock LCD cable allows only HD resolution, no matter which screen you install. So is there any chance to get ot work?

In the past i had Dell L502x laptop with HD screen at stock and purchased Dell V73D3 1080p cable, swapped 1920x1080p display in and all worked flawlessly)

May be there're some universal cables around or the one from L502x should work too? There's just one minor issue, such cable also has the connector to webcam, probably a specific one...

    Any help appreciated! Thanks :)

Doesn't look like the n5110 ever offered a 1080p screen... can't tell for sure, but if that was the case, the "correct" 1080p cable probably doesn't exist.

Maybe you could mod something for an XPS 15 or even get something for the n5010 (if that had a 1080p option), but I'd say you're out of luck.

you can always try a FHD screen and hope the cable yours has supports it.

I saw on laptop screens and ebay that there is this scren : LP156WF1(TL)(C2) which seem to be compatible with dell n5110 but I belive that the problem will be with lvds cable, as this seems to be single channel LVDS and FHD screen requires dual channel LVDS cable.

    link ebay : www.LaptopScreen.com

I also saw 2 items (matte and glossy ) on laptopscreens.com but can't find them right now.

Some customers were successful at this after replacing the original laptop video cable with one that supports FullHD. Both video cables usually look identical. However, they have different pin assignment and different manufacturer's part numbers. We do not carry video cables. You'd need to try finding them yourself from online retailers, possibly from manufacturer of your laptop or on Ebay.

could you give me the serial number for the FHD screen of this laptop (glossy and matte) so I can search for lvds cable which is compatible?

Cable is not determined by screen model, but by laptop model and required resolution.

You are right, but I can't find anywone or this laptop for sale with full hd resolution :) (maybe it's a mistery that there are screens for sale with dell n5110 and FHD specs)

Upon some further research these models were shipped only with HD resolution originally. So it looks like the only way would be to find a video cable which could work from a different Dell model if possible, we would recommend taking at some forums for info.

It seems that they removed the link / it's not accesible anymore.

Anyway if we want FHD on dell n5110 we must search for LVDS dual channel that is compatible with motherboard because I'm really confident that we can achieve this on our laptops.
