I'm looking for a fully Vista compatible soundcard for the M1330 (either expresscard or USB) that will have some way of connecting to an SPDIF (optical) port. Trying to connect my M1330 to my receiver without having to run 6 wires to it.

I like the Soundblaster cards and obviously its a good brand but I've heard that Creative's Vista support is terrible. Is that still the case?

All I need is 5.1 support to SPDIF.

    Thanks!

I use the soundblaster live external usb. Its not the best card out there, but it works in vista. I use it for 5.1 but not through SPDIF, though it supports it.

Thanks for the really quick response.

It does work through optical as well though? How do you connect to 5.1 through it? Thanks,
