    Fun with two monitors (9100)...

    Hi,

    I have an Inspiron 9100, P4/3.2, ATI Mobility Radeon 9700, 1680x1050 and a Sony Multiscan E200 17". What I want to do is show the same display (preferably at the same resolution) on both the notebook sceen and an external monitor or projector. Cycling through Fn+F8 right now gives me...

    1.Lower resolution on the notebook display and extended desktop on the Sony (Doesn't matter whether "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" is checked or not).
    2. Blank notebook screen and display on Sony only.
    3. Display on notebook only.

    I don't want the extended desktop at all. On my old Latitude C800, duplicating the same display on both monitors was a breeze.

    I have to give a fairly critical presentation in a week and I really need the duplicated display. God knows what the projector will do when I plug it in.

    Please help a desperate newbie.
