    Funny Problem!!! Please advise

    About 1 month and a half back i asked for my faulty laptop to be replaced...and sure enough within 2 weeks i get a new one...

    problem is...i got an extra one along with the replacement....the same specs....
    1800$ laptop.....

    now im not sure whether i should return it or not...half of me want to keep while the other half reminds me that I MAY END UP IN TROUBLE....

    DELL has not contacted me as yet it has been a month already....

    any advise please....

    I think you should return the notebook. Its probably a small mistake on Dell's part. Thats probably the best thing to do, if you don't want to get in trouble.

    Well... they might of made a mistake, but at the same time maybe not. My friend's laptop shipped two weeks later than they were supposed to so DELL sent him two of the same laptop as well, but they meant too. "It's part of their way for saying sorry about that".

    Well, to confirm that it is a "sorry" thing from Dell, phone them and ask them, if you were supposed to recieve an extra notebook. If they yes, then your okay to keep it.

    Generally 9 times out of 10, Dell requires you to return the fault machine. If you don't, they will charge you for both machines. Just because they are nice and giving a replacement, they are not being that nice. There are some special circustances as pointed out, but with faulty laptops, they require the faulty laptop to be returned.

    Nevermind - thought you were saying they sent you a replacement + faulty. I would talk to Dell's tech support just to be on the safe side. It is hard to tell what Dell has in mind, and they can probably tell you what the situation is.
