I want to purchase the dell studio 14z but am looking to get the best price possible. Do you think if I wait dell would most likely have a back to school sale for the 14z as it is marketed towards students?

Right now I can get 170 dollars off (E-value and EPP). Should I wait or bite the bullet?

If you can get a good deal, and want it *now* go for it!

Otherwise, waiting til a later day that deal may not be there. Dell will have *back to school deals* in August, no worries there.

It just depends on how soon, you want your 14z. If you were to get it now, you have 21 days from date of invoice to *test it out* per se..and that would probably take you into August before it was received. Perhaps by then more deals would be out. Or, just wait til August, and see! :)

yeah i've been waiting for so long for a coupon for this, but I've been hearing about all the delays and it taking over a month to get the system, so I don't think I can wait any longer.

I agree. If you look at all the people who bought 14z, most of them had a delay before they received their laptop. If you want the laptop before school starts, you're better safe than sorry. Once you get your laptop, you'd have to get used to it and configure it to your liking, so you'll need those extra 1-2 weeks :) .

When I talked to the rep, he said that the back to school delights is the best deal for the Studio 14z for the next 3 months...but I had a feeling he might have just said it to make me buy it >_>. I had 3 reps and they all refused to give me any additional discounts...so possibly this is a good deal.

The best deal I've seen is $160 off and 7% off from EPP.

    $1,024 - $160 - 120.96 = $864 for the system below.

Do you guys know of any of other discounts I can apply?
I'm also considering the Best Buy version for $749.99

    Thanks

I had almost the same configuration as you except i had a T8600 processor instead of the T6400, and the EPP deal you listed was the best deal I could find on it. As for the best buy deal, you have to decide if the bigger hard drive, backlit keyboard, and most importantly the higher res and possibly higher quality screen is worth the premium and loss of office software. Another thing to consider though is that you'll probably get the best buy one shipped a week or more sooner since it's already built.

That e-value coupon was a while ago, I don't think there is one going on right now. As for the best deal...in all reality, the best deal is talking to the right rep and frustrating them into giving you a good deal  .
