I've got a GeForce GO 7800 and I'm aware that if I can track one down, I can upgrade to a GO 7900GTX, however, DX10 will be upon us soon, what are the chances that we may be able to upgrade to the next series of nVidia mobile cards? If Dell changes their chassis design, I suppose it will make the GPU cooling system change along with it, making it more difficult to upgrade, but given that nVidia is probably going to stick with MXM for some time, it's at least possible, right?

    Just curious...

The projected power requirements for DirectX 10 are extremely high, and they will consume more power than anything out today - about 300W last time I looked. It will be a long time before you get any cards like that coming to laptop.

So no, you will not be able to go DX10 with your current laptop. The last thing you should expect to upgrade in a laptop is the graphics card. The Go7800 has more than enough power for now, I wouldn't even bother with upgrading unless you can get a better one for real cheap.

Also, the E1705 does not use real MXM; it is a proprietary version of it by Dell.
