Read some info a month ago regarding Dell launching a i9 G7 laptop. Turns out nothing showed up already.

I'm not sure if you're asking a question or just stating your observation. No one knows when the G7 with the i9 will come out.

It's not coming to the G series according to Dell CS chat, despite the press release.

The G7 struggles to cool the 8750h (most laptops will). The i9 won't be pretty.

    More control is always better.

Besides you can probably undervolt the MQ 1060 to oblivion if you cant disable it outright for use with eGPU. Which is the thought process for me personally if I went this route.

Though I do miss cherry keyboards and SFF desktops. I might just suck it up and wait.

Here's a neat unit in the pipeline with a mechanical keyboard. http://www.eluktronics.com/MECH-15-G2

Can't say I know too much about it, but i'll definitely try one once the 144hz panel is available in one.

Nah ill pass on it, my experience is practically dictated around the keyboard.

Its why I stick to dell as they used to have the best keyboards in the business.
