I've read the recent threads on this topic and was wondering if it's possible to purchase DDR3 for the 1520 and put it in later?
Or is it just not compatiable?
Unfortunantly I'm not the most computer / laptop savvy.
Thanks in advance!

No thats not possable. The ram is inside the Graphics card. You might be able to take out the GPU chip and replace it if it is a very special type of GPU called MXM, Im pretty sure dell dosent use this, if thats the case the GPU is soldered onto the motherboard and isnt replaceable.

No, unfortunately the VRAM is soldered onto the graphics module, so you won't be able to change it.

you will have to change the whole graphics card instead.

^But you can't get to the GPU inside these things, so your locked in.
