I installed the Act of War demo on my Dell I6000 and no picture shows up when i run it, only audio. It says my graphics card doesn't support the necessary pixel and vertex shaders, but I know it does. I have run games like HL2 and Doom 3 on this laptop. What's the problem?
BTW, I just installed the latest drivers from Intel.

Have you tried adjusting your display settings to 1280 by 800? No idea if this will work or not, but some games will only show when the display is set to 1280.

First, go to the act of war developers website and update your game with the latest patch.
Second, check to see in the game folder whether or not you can configure the video settings to Direct X and not OpenGL or something like that.
Third, Can you even get into the game at all to see the option menu, or does your screen go blank as soon as you execute the program? -
I'm running the game at 1280x800.
MoZirry, the screen is black as soon as it starts, I never see anything except the cursor. I'll try what you suggested.

Ok, I still have problems with other games. BF1942 won't run now.
