GOOD NEWS -- (not from me) but if YOU have any, please post here--we all need some.

Anyone? There has to be some good news coming. It's been too long now!!!! They cannot possibly be sitting in their "build" cubicles doing nothing (assuming they have cubicles -- that's the picture I get in my head, with their feet propped up, laughing).

So, lets all take a deep breath, smile, and watch this thread for all of the good that is coming our way.

 

Just mentioned this in another thread...but the Dell rep i was just talking to told me from his experiences in the past few days, he has seen the estimated wait time for all the colors of the 1520 going down. My blue 1520 is estimated to ship in 12 days, and that's down from 21 just a few days ago. I ordered mine on July 18th, with an initial ship date of August 8th!

Mines with the DHL delivery courier. My docking station came at noon yesterday, so i'm assuming the laptop will be here around noon today. One more hour....

Yes, this is well worth the wait!!! Even though I only ordered six days ago, it was great getting here today. DHL didn't even ring the doorbell, I beat them to the door.

BUT, farelli said in another post -- do you think we are getting better machines (less problems and maybe kinks worked out) during our wait? That helps me keep a positive outlook because it could be very true!!!

Does anyone have good news on the colors for the 1420?

 

umm, according to the dell website there is no delay for white, blue, or red for the 1420, so that's good news for everyone who ordered a 1420 with those colors. But green and pink went from 8 days to 13 days delay brown and black have a 2 day delay.

 

i'm calling my rep right now to see about changing the color.. but i wonder if thats going to push me to the back of the line and will I be waiting longer then?!? what should i do?

 

Unfortunately for the 1720s, there apparently is now a 2961 day delay for those same colors... :/ Oops, not positive, sorry sorry.

I personally would stick w/ the color you want and wait it out; if you switch, you may be delayed again b/c of starting from scratch.

yeah.. i was thinking that maybe they are getting the colored lids in one at a time- that is one color at a time. if i change to red i might get delayed even further into the month or even into september and then my luck the green shipment would have come in and I would be S*out*of*luck!

 

Look, you ordered "Spring Green" and we still have 7 months until Spring. Be patient.

I got some halfway good news I suppose.

I talked to a dell rep online today, and he told me my est. ship date is the 15th of august, even though on the phone and on the order status site it tells me Aug. 28th.

He also said it could very well ship sooner and that he doesn't see a lot of backlog in regards to the screens.
