    GPU driver thinks notebook is running on outles, when it's really using battery...

    Does it do this for anyone else who has the 7800? Just go to the nvidia menu, then the power mizer tab, and see if it says "AC outlet" under "Current power source". (When its not plugged in obviously)

    Also, if it is working normally... could you tell me what driver you are using? And does it have a overclock, or "clock frequency" option?

    Its really not THAT big of a deal. I can always just go into the menu and chnage the powersettings when I need to.... but it would be nice if I didnt have to take that step whenever I unplug.

    Mine doesn't have that problem - I'm running off of Nvidia's Beta Driver (ver. 84.20) and it also has an option to OC as well, although I do like OCing with a different app.

    Does that driver give you the option to always have the fan on?
