    So - I'm asking this here just because I figure y'all know what runs best and what doesn't run best on the XPS.

    I'd much, much, much prefer to get an FPS as opposed to a real-time strategy game. I love strategy games, don't get me wrong, but I want something I can say, "Oh, 20 min before class, let's pop a few bad guys for a bit," if you know what I mean.

    I do already have BF2 so I'll probably play that some. I would love a new FPS, though. I'm considering picking up a copy of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter because I love the Clancy series.

    Any other suggestions?

    How bout for online playing? I'm a little behind the curve since I usually only buy one game and play it for awhile before getting something else, and I've had BF2 for awhile and not really been tired of it. I just haven't played it in a bit due to a hard drive failure and so I figure I might just start afresh with a new game.

    I'm thinking I might want something a little futuristic...but not like Halo futuristic!

    Army of Two for the Xbox 360 was pretty enjoyable - is there a PC version? I was playing it at a friend's house on his Xbox and liked it...

    well having been a cs 1.6 player for a very long time [maybe 4/5years] i'd say that CoD4 was an easy replacer..ive heard tf2 is quite good as well :)

    FEAR, Gears of War, and for online playing, I definitely recommend Counter-Strike.

    TF2 is a blast but you may want to play it longer than 20 minutes. :)

    an MMORPG to keep in mind might be Guild Wars... it's free online, and if you only want to play for 20 minutes or so just do 2-4 rounds of Random/Team Arenas

    Blazing Angels 2, plays great on my desktop gaming rig and I'm hoping it will still be ok on my upcoming XPS 1530 purchase.

    I can play Crysis at medium detail without issue and CoD 4 at high detail without issue. If it will run Crysis on medium then it's a decent bet that it will run most of the other current FPS games without issue.

    I have played so far.

    BIO-SHOCK = MAX
    COD 4 = MAX
    FEAR = MAX
    DOOM3 = MAX
    GHOST RECON = MAX

    No problems at all, except a couple black screens, but updated and all ok after.

    People say Crysis will not play very well or you need to play med or low.

    But thats what they said about COD4 and BIO-SHOCK, and never had a problem.

    I think any game can play on a 8600gt at the moment, but remind you dont think Crysis will play on full out max settings, but will run just fine, and you will not notice a difference.

    I hope the XPS will be able to run the new BiA, I've been looking forward to that game.
