Can anyone tell me if this is doable, without overheating? I plan on buying after then penryn launch(though i may still go with a T7500 if there is a significant saving between it and the 6meg cache penryn chip) and realistically, will have it closed to the side while i'm using it at home.
Id rather game with a full sized keyboard, with a 20" monitor.

I could play it safe and keep it open, but id prefer to keep it sealed up so i dont have to dust and screen off as often.

ya.. you can set it in the power option so that the laptop doesn't turn off when the lid's closed. But I don't think you can turn off the monitor specifically while its closed.

I think the screen automatically turns off when the lids closed... that said, hows the actual heat dissipation?

My current laptop gets awfully hot if i shut it while its running without having it go into standby/hibernation... and thats usually just downloading stuff overnight.(not taxing to anything other then the hard drive)

Can someone tell me just how hot it gets while closed, running full boar?

your lcd will probably get warm, but if your laptop is on a flat solid surface like a desk, the fan should beable to remove most of the heat normaly. The lid has raised notches so it can still pull air through the keyboard vents and keyboard itself.
