    Finally gave in and ordered a Vostro 1500. Specs:

    Intel Core 2 Duo T9300
    15.4 in Wide Screen XGA+LCD Display w/TrueLife
    1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, 2 DIMM
    8X CD/DVD+RW Read and Burn CD and DVD
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8600M GT
    80GB 5400RPM Hard Drive edit
    Integrated 2.0 mega pixel Web Camera

    I will be upgrading the RAM and HDD myself. Came out about $850 all said and done (thanks to that $500 off deal :D ). I'll be sure to post my thoughts when i've had a little 'play' time with it.

    yeah (that price is shipping and tax included). i live in hawaii, so the only option they give me for shipping is overnight. but any chance you could list the one you priced out? just want to see what you might've done different. thanks...
