My laptops not here yet, but I got my hands on the Vostro 1500 ( similar processor and video card, but has bluetooth and winxppro and I don't) which was delivered to work yesterday. After watching how it cruised through the bluetooth/dell mouse, 38 window updates, virus software and full "Office" installations, all I can say is this baby rocks.

Afterwards, and with little time left in the day, I took this puppy to pcpitstop.com, but only after rebooting to freshen it's resources. What a surprise...it gagged on the video portion where the white and black circles would shrink and expand, it moved very slowly, almost hanging there. Then only to make matters worst, it hung during the upload speed test and I.E. locked up. I then had to end program. Thus, I couldn't finish the test. I'll try it again tomorrow, providing my co-worker doesn't need it on the road.

Anybodyelse try and what were your scores for the video card and full tests?

Maybe it was a problem with the internet connection. Hard to say....or maybe heat. I don't really know. But when i tried PC Pitstop on Dial up vs. DSL, it makes a world of difference...

Got back to it. Downloaded the driver from Dell, deleted the current Nvidia driver in add/remove programs and installed new driver. After reboot, went back to pcpitstop and it did the same. The site says comparables do about 165fps, but this vostro 1500 only does 44fps. Anybody w/ 8400m have this issue besides me?
