It looks like AUO screens will be around for a while. AUO is one of the worlds largest manufacturers of LCD screen.

Well, I don't really care where my LCD screen comes from, as long as it's good. I had a LG philips screen before, and it had a huge back light problem along with a grainy problem. I had it replaced and now my replacement laptop has a AUO LCD screen. It's ok, there's no graininess problem, it's alot easier to read from than the LG philips panel that I once had.
No matter what manufacture the LCD is from, there's always a few that will be defective....it's just unfortunate that Dell still uses these defective LCD monitors. -

AUO here as well. It is clear. I can see the light leakage when you boot.. thats it. I love it! Guess I got lucky?
